Ottawa, ON — All 12 teams faced off Friday night with Ottawa, Pembroke, Brockville, Rockland, Navan

Ottawa 1, Kemptville 0
Ottawa defeated Kemptville 1-0 in a tightly contested game, with Matsukubo scoring the only goal late in the first period on a power play. Despite strong goaltending from Bennett, who stopped 32 of 33 shots, Kemptville couldn’t find the back of the net. Ottawa’s Paddock earned the shutout, making 30 saves on 30 shots. Both teams had limited power-play opportunities, with Ottawa converting once on two chances while Kemptville was unable to capitalize on their two power plays. The game remained scoreless through the second and third periods, with Ottawa holding on to their narrow lead for the win.

Pembroke 4, Smiths Falls 1
Pembroke defeated Smiths Falls 4-1 in a game where they capitalized on power-play opportunities. Smiths Falls took an early lead with a goal from Rabe at 0:26 of the first period, but Pembroke responded with Cardiff’s power-play goal at 18:02 to tie the game. In the second period, Pembroke took control with goals from De Leon at 9:26 and Ndeffo on another power play at 18:46. Barnard sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 18:21 of the third. Pembroke outshot Smiths Falls 22-27 and went 2-for-4 on the power play, while Smiths Falls failed to score on their four chances. Modelski earned the win with 26 saves, while Morrow stopped 18 of 21 shots for Smiths Falls.

Brockville 7, Cornwall 2
Brockville triumphed over Cornwall 7-2, dominating from the start with a 3-0 lead after the first period, including two goals by Dostaler. The Braves continued to control the game in the second period, adding three more goals, including a power-play tally by Paluszak and a goal from Cote. Cornwall managed to score twice, with Beliveau netting both, but Brockville responded with another goal by Paluszak and a short-handed tally by Poudrette in the third. Despite a 28-46 shot disadvantage, Cornwall couldn’t capitalize on their power play, going 2-for-7, while Brockville held them off. Brockville’s Gerlich made 19 saves, and Gillis added 7 in relief, while Cornwall’s Lesperance-Spack stopped 17 of 21 shots before being replaced by Lyon, who saved 22 of 25.

Rockland 4, Renfrew 3
Rockland edged Renfrew 4-3 in a close contest, with a strong start in the first period, taking a 3-2 lead by the end of the frame. Rockland’s Hall and Charron provided an early advantage, while Renfrew responded with goals from Kobylecki and Cameron. Baril’s goal late in the first gave Rockland a one-goal cushion. In the second period, Renfrew tied the game at 3-3 with Pawlowski’s goal, but Baril’s second of the game put Rockland back ahead. The third period saw no scoring, despite both teams taking several penalties. Rockland outshot Renfrew 42-17, with Kurtiak making 38 saves in the loss, while Dinsdale stopped 14 of 17 shots for Rockland. Neither team capitalized on the power play, with both finishing 1-for-5.

Navan 5, Hawkesbury 2
Navan defeated Hawkesbury 5-2 with a strong offensive performance. Purdy opened the scoring early for Navan, followed by a power-play goal from Kussmann in the second. Hawkesbury responded with Porco’s goal, but Holmes extended Navan’s lead early in the third. Perron answered for Hawkesbury, but Johnson sealed the win for Navan with an empty-net goal late in the game. Despite being outshot 38-30, Navan’s Hodgins had an outstanding performance in goal, stopping 36 shots, while Ruddy made 26 saves for Hawkesbury. Navan capitalized on one of three power-play opportunities, while Hawkesbury went 0-for-2.

Carleton Place 7, Nepean 6 (OT)
Carleton Place won 7-6 in overtime against Nepean in a thrilling, back-and-forth game. Nepean took an early lead with Thompson’s goal just 56 seconds in, but Carleton Place quickly responded with Froysland’s goal at 1:24 and later added three more, including Prud’homme’s pair in the second period. Nepean kept it close, with Konobelj scoring on the power play and Kahriman, Williamson, and Houben also finding the net in the third to tie it up. Carleton Place regained the lead with Small’s goal early in the third, but Nepean answered again with Campbell’s power-play goal. Hapke tied it up for Carleton Place once more forcing overtime. Doucet ended the game in overtime with a goal at 2:43, securing the win. Nepean outshot Carleton Place 40-32, with Gedraitis making 25 saves for Nepean and Vandenberg stopping 34 shots for Carleton Place. Both teams had power-play success, with Nepean going 2-for-3 and Carleton Place 0-for-1.
