Ottawa, ON — For just the second time since Showcase, all 12 teams faced off on Friday night making for an action-packed evening.

Ottawa, 4 Brockville 1
Ottawa defeated Brockville 4-1 in a solid all-around performance, with strong contributions from their offensive and defensive units. Ottawa took the lead in the first period with Iserhoff’s goal at 12:36, assisted by Guillemette and Lobe. The second period saw Matsukubo extend Ottawa’s lead to 2-0 with a goal at 7:47. In the third, Ottawa quickly added another goal from Poirier at 3:02, and despite a brief response from Brockville’s Buller just 31 seconds later, Ottawa sealed the win with an empty-net goal by Demers at 17:58. Brockville, despite outshooting Ottawa 36-25, struggled on the power play, going 0-for-3, while Ottawa was also unable to convert on their 5 power-play chances. Paddock was solid in goal for Ottawa, making 35 saves on 36 shots, while Brockville’s Gerlich stopped 21 of 24 shots.

Rockland 4, Smiths Falls 0
Rockland cruised to a 4-0 victory over Smiths Falls, with a dominant performance from their defense and goaltender Forget, who earned a shutout with 32 saves. The scoring began in the first period with Hall’s goal at 14:10, assisted by Penney. In the second period, Rockland extended their lead with two power-play goals from Charron, the first at 10:00 and the second at 14:51. O’Connor sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 18:46 in the third period. Despite a strong offensive effort from Smiths Falls, who outshot Rockland 32-17, they couldn’t find the back of the net. Rockland’s penalty kill was perfect, shutting down all five of Smiths Falls’ power-play opportunities, while Rockland converted once on three chances. Morrow made 13 saves on 16 shots for Smiths Falls, but it was Rockland’s disciplined play and strong goaltending that secured the shutout victory.

Navan 7, Renfrew 3
Navan secured a convincing 7-3 win over Renfrew, showing their offensive firepower and special teams prowess. The game started with a quick goal from Marcellino at 0:07 for Navan, but Renfrew responded with Protopapas’ goal at 7:29 to tie the game. The second period started off all Navan, as they scored four unanswered goals, including two power-play tallies from Holmes and Magaletta, and a goal from Poulin, to take a commanding 5-2 lead. Renfrew briefly cut the deficit with goals from Pawlowski and Glover heading into the third. Navan continued to dominate in the third period. Brown scored twice, including a power-play goal, and sealed the win with his second at 9:31, giving him a multi-point game. Renfrew couldn’t capitalize on their chances, going 0-for-3 on the power play, while Navan was 3-for-7. Goaltender Hodgins was solid, stopping 31 of 34 shots, while Renfrew’s goaltenders Kurtiak and Suys combined to save 37 of 44 shots. Despite Renfrew’s efforts, Navan’s offensive depth and special teams were too much to overcome.

Hawkesbury 5, Cornwall 2
Hawkesbury defeated Cornwall 5-2 in a well-rounded performance, led by a strong second period. The game began with an early goal from Cornwall’s Warner at 4:32, but Hawkesbury responded quickly with Trudeau’s goal at 9:51, making it 1-1 heading into the break. In the second period, Hawkesbury took control, scoring three times. Pelchat assisted on both Trudeau’s go-ahead goal and Rose’s power-play marker, while Trudeau added another to complete a multi-point night. Cornwall managed to pull one back in the third period with Fraser’s goal at 1:54, but Hawkesbury sealed the win with an empty-netter from Trudeau at 19:40.

Cornwall had a solid offensive showing, firing 32 shots, but Hawkesbury’s Ruddy was up to the task with 30 saves. Meanwhile, Cornwall’s Chabot made 37 saves on 41 shots but couldn’t hold off the relentless Hawkesbury attack. The visitors’ lone power-play goal came from Rose, while Cornwall went 0-for-2 on the man advantage. Despite Cornwall’s fight, Hawkesbury’s depth and strong special teams ultimately led them to victory.

Kemptville 6, Nepean 4
Kemptville secured a 6-4 win over Nepean in a fast-paced game, with both teams registering high shot totals. Kemptville struck early with goals from McDougall and O’Doherty in the first period, but Nepean responded with a power-play goal from Williamson to make it 2-1. The second period saw Kemptville pull away with four goals, including Beaulieu’s early strike and power-play goals from Fehr and Stubbings, despite Nepean’s efforts with goals from Etchart and Yates. Nepean’s Yates added another in the third, but Kemptville’s McDougall sealed the win with a power-play goal early in the final frame. Kemptville outshot Nepean 34-42, with Bennett making 38 saves in net for Kemptville, while Nepean’s Brant stopped 28 of 34 shots. Kemptville capitalized on three of their power-play chances, while Nepean couldn’t convert on any of theirs.

Pembroke 5, Carleton Place 2
Carleton Place defeated Pembroke 4-2 in a well-fought contest, with the home team taking control with two goals in the first and two in the second. Small opened the scoring for Carleton Place, followed by a second from him in the second period, along with goals from Bouwer and Barton, the latter coming on the power play. Pembroke fought back with Cardiff’s goal late in the second and Jamfa Jr’s short-handed goal in the third, but they couldn’t close the gap. Despite being outshot 35-30, Pembroke’s Modelski was solid in goal, making 31 saves, while Carleton Place’s Ferguson stopped 28 of 30. Both teams had power-play chances, with Carleton Place converting once on two opportunities, while Pembroke couldn’t capitalize on their three power plays.
