Pembroke blows out Cumberland, 7-0

 

The Pembroke Lumber Kings were firing on all cylinders against the Cumberland Grads, and when the final buzzer sounded Lumber Kings emerged with a 7-0 win.

 

Adam Dauda had two goals and one assist to lead Pembroke. Dauda scored the first of his two goals at 12:25 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Pembroke. Colton Keuhl provided the assist. Dauda's next tally made the score 4-0 Pembroke with 3:37 left in the second period. Dylan Chase assisted on the tally.

Cumberland's power play was ineffective against the Lumber Kings' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Pembroke's penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on eight Cumberland power plays. The Grads were unable to stop the Lumber Kings from sending pucks towards the net, and Pembroke eventually piled up 40 shots on goal. The Lumber Kings bested their season scoring average. Pembroke averages 4.0 goals per game.

Pembroke also got points from Keuhl, who also had one goal and one assist, Jesse Blais, who also registered one goal and two assists, and Stephen Cooney, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Pembroke also got a goal from Felix Chamberland as well. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Ryan Casselman, who had two and Mitchell Mueller, Anthony Nellis, and Stephan Beauvais, who each chipped in one.

Cumberland stifled the Lumber Kings' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. The Grads did not reach the goal total they have come to expect this season. Cumberland averages 2.3 goals per game.

Joel Horodziejczyk rejected 23 shots on goal for Pembroke. The Lumber Kings incurred 22 minutes in penalty time with 11 minors. Paul Leger recorded 33 saves for the Grads. Cumberland incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors.
