Pembroke beats Brockville 5-0 as Piccolino gains shutout

Jordan Piccolino was superb between the pipes for the Pembroke Lumber Kings, as he did not allow a goal in a 5-0 victory over the Brockville Braves.

The win by Pembroke clinched the best of seven series at 4-1.

The Lumber Kings were led by Anthony Nellis, who registered one goal. Nellis scored 33 seconds into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. Felix Chamberland assisted on the tally.

Pembroke forced Brockville’s goaltenders to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, getting 35 shots and forcing 30 saves. Bo Taylor made six stops and Mitchell Datz made 24.

Pembroke also got points from Owen McDade, who also racked up one goal and two assists to lead the team in points and Stephen Cooney, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Pembroke included Colton Keuhl and Ryan Casselman, who scored one goal each. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Stephan Beauvais, who had two and Dylan Chase, Mitchell Mueller, Hudson Michaelis, and Alexandre Boivin, who each chipped in one.

Piccolino recorded 26 saves for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors. The Braves incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
