Ottawa downs Hawkesbury in overtime, 4-3 (OT)

 

The Ottawa Senators pulled out a 4-3 (OT) overtime victory over the Hawkesbury Hawks on a clutch goal by Thomas Crevier.

 

Ottawa was led by Crevier, who racked up one goal. Crevier scored 49 seconds into overtime to make the score 4-3 Ottawa. Zach Car assisted on the tally.

In a losing effort, Hawkesbury was led by Rory Gagnon, who finished with two goals. Gagnon scored the first of his two goals at 7:54 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Simon Houle picked up the assist. Gagnon's next tally made the score 3-2 Hawkesbury with 17:54 left in the second period. Ross Mandigo provided the assist.

The Senators excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Ottawa kept the Hawks' goalie busy throughout the game, and Gunner Rivers made 28 saves on 32 shots.

Others who scored for Ottawa included Shawn Lynch, Connor Bebb, and Geoffrey Lawson, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Ottawa were Isaac Anderson, who had one and Daniel Sarracco and Jim Pearson, who contributed two each.

Hawkesbury also got a goal from Jonathan Cyr as well. In addition, Hawkesbury received assists from Alex Anderson, Chris Harper, and David Cyr, who each chipped in one.

The Senators' Ian Andriano stopped 18 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Ottawa incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Hawkesbury incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
