Today, on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to reflect, learn, and honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities.
As a league, we recognize the importance of listening to Indigenous voices, acknowledging the truth of our shared history, and committing to reconciliation through action. Hockey is a game that brings people together, and we believe in using our platform to foster respect, understanding, and inclusion both on and off the ice.
We encourage everyone in our community to learn more about the history and lasting impacts of residential schools, and to take steps toward building a future rooted in respect and unity.
