Morning Recap | Ten teams in action over course of busy Sunday in CCHL

 

Ottawa, ON – It was a busy Sunday in the CCHL with 10 teams in action as the Ottawa Jr Senators, Brockville Braves, Carleton Place Canadians, Smiths Falls Bears, and Pembroke Lumber Kings picked up wins.

 

F | OTTAWA 4 NEPEAN 2

Thomas Freel (2), Mark MacPhee, and Tucker McIntosh tallied goals, while Felix Schnell made 26-saves as Ottawa improved their season record to 27-23-2-0. Nepean saw their record drop to 9-40-1-2.

 

F | BROCKVILLE 4 NAVAN 1

Parker Casey (2), Ryan Gillespie, and Austin Paul found the back of the net, while Jake Begley made 29-saves as Brockville improved to 33-113-4 on the year. Navan saw their record fall to 23-28-1-0.

 

F | CARLETON PLACE 4 KEMPTVILLE 1

Brett Thorne (2), David Gagnon, and Caleb Kean scored goals, while Devon Levi made 18-saves as Carleton Place improved to 42-7-3-2 on the year. Kemptville saw their record fall to 20-27-4-0.

 

F | SMITHS FALLS 4 ROCKLAND 3

Brent Broaders, Tate Leeson, Justin Trudel, and Alexander Caulfield scored goals, while Jake Smith made 33-saves as Smiths Falls improved their season record to 27-18-2-2. Rockland, who fell to 34-16-0-2, had goals from Matthew Vermaeten, Gunnar Smith, and Cameron Scrivens, while Cole Hudson made 38-saves in the losing effort.

 

F | PEMBROKE 4 CORNWALL 3 SO

Brady Egan, Jacob Shankar, and Brandon Cianflone scored in regulation, Fletcher Anderson netted the shootout winner, while Reece Proulx made 21-saves as Pembroke stormed back from trailing 3-0 to improve their season record to 26-22-2-1. Cornwall, who fell to 18-30-1-3, had goals from Matthew Toporowski, Charlie Skinner, and Emerick Nadeau, while Rico DiMatteo made 38-saves in the loss.
