Morning Recap | Opening Showcase | Day 2

 

Ottawa, ON – Day 2 action of the CCHL Opening Showcase was just as entertaining as the Day 1 as the Kanata Lasers, Pembroke Lumber Kings, Carleton Place Canadians, Nepean Raiders, Rockland Nationals, and Navan Grads all picked up wins.

 

F | KANATA 6 HAWKESBURY 3

The Lasers received goals from Derek St. Jean, Liam Markhauser, Austin Holmes, Austin Paul, Luca Nocita, and Julian Recine, while Vincent Bujold-Roux made 39-saves as Kanata improved to 3-1-0 on the season. Luke Grainger, Matt Gasuik, and Zachary Lefebvre tallied goals for the Hawks, while goaltender Robbie Nuchereno made 24-saves as Hawkesbury fell to 1-3-0.

 

F | PEMBROKE 5 CORNWALL 4

Alex Urbisci (1G, 3A), Brady Egan (1G, 1A), Dante Moretti (1G), Jack Stockfish (1G), Andrew Poulias (1G) all found the net, while Darian McTavish made 32-saves as Pembroke improved to a perfect 4-0-0 on the year. Kobe Tallman (2G), Bradley Shaw (1G), and Matthew Varnovitski (1G) scored for the Colts while Rico Dimatteo finished with 29-saves as Cornwall fell to 1-3-0.

 

F | CARLETON PLACE 4 OTTAWA 2

Ben Brunette, Ryland Mosley, Ayo Adeniye, and Cameron Patton all scored, while Devon Levi made 31-saves as Carleton Place improved to 4-1-0 on the season. Brent Broaders and Ranvir Gill-Shane tallied markers for the Jr Sens, while Joshua Ward finished with 20-saves as Ottawa fell to 2-2-0.

 

F | NEPEAN 4 SMITHS FALLS 1

Garrett McArthur, Matt McQuade, Evan Boucher, and Colin Cromie found the net, while Tyler Laureault made 34-saves as Nepean (1-3-0) got their first win of the season. Alex Lewis had the lone Smiths Falls goal, while Victor Desjardins made 25-saves as the Bears fell to 0-3-1 on the year.

 

F | ROCKLAND 3 KEMPTVILLE 2 OT

Cole Craft tallied two goals, Matthew Vermaeten had the OT winner, while Cole Hudson made 22-saves as Rockland improved to 3-1-0 on the year. Kemptville, who fell to 1-2-0 on the season, had goals from Chase Broda and Gavin Wood, while William Anderson made 30-saves in the losing effort.

F | NAVAN 6 BROCKVILLE 5 OT

Jackson Arcan recorded 4 points (1G, 3A) including the OT winner, Jean-Sylvain Boyer had 3 points (2G, 1A), Gabriel Crete, Devyn Orpana, and Alex Robert each had singles, while Alex Wisco made 39-saves as Navan improved their season record to 3-2-0. Troy Bowditch, Simon Kerr, Sam Allison, Tyler McBay, and Justin McRae tallied goals for Brockville while goaltender Simon Harkness made 23-saves in the loss as Brockville fell to 2-1-0.
