Morning Recap | Colts upset Canadians, Braves win 14th straight

 

Ottawa, ON – In Thursday night CCHL action, the Cornwall Colts upset the Carleton Place Canadians, while the Brockville Braves won their 14th straight game with a win over Kanata.

Charlie Skinner (2), Matthew Varnovitski, and Christophe Cote scored in regulation, Charlie Campbell had the shootout winner, while Rico Dimatteo made 35-saves as Cornwall improved their season record to 10-18-1-1. Carleton Place, who saw their record fall to 26-3-2-1, had goals from Caleb Kean, Brett Thorne, Andrej Hromic, and David Gagnon.

 

F | BROCKVILLE 4 KANATA 3 SO

Konnor MacCormick, Josh Spratt, and Justin McRae all scored in the third period, rookie Colin Stacey netted the shootout winner, while Jake Begley made 33-saves as Brockville came back from down three goals in the final frame, winning their fourteenth straight game to improve to 21-4-3-0 on the year. Kanata saw their record fall to 16-10-1-3, getting goals from Julian Recine, Luca Nocita, and Eric Conley.
