Morning Recap | Colts, Canadians, and 73’s winners Thursday night

 

Ottawa, ON – With three games across the CCHL region Thursday night, the Carleton Place Canadians and Kemptville 73’s continued their strong play, while the Cornwall Colts picked up a huge upset victory over Brockville.

Kerfalla Toure (2), Ryan Bonfield, Austin Mourar, and Ryland Mosley tallied goals, while Devon Levi made 23-saves as Carleton Place improved to 34-5-3-2 on the year. Kanata saw their record fall to 19-16-1-4.

 

F | KEMPTVILLE 2 HAWKESBURY 0

Madoka Suzuki and Ryan Pawlikowski were the goal scorers, while Riley McCabe had a 27-save shutout as Kemptville won their third in a row to improve to 18-20-3-2 on the season. Hawkesbury, who fell to 23-15-2-0, had a 37-save performance from Zach Johnson in the losing effort.

Will McKinley, Kobe Tallman, and Bryan O’Mara scored in regulation, Charlie Campbell netted the shootout winner, while Rico DiMatteo made a whopping 54-saves as Cornwall improved to 14-26-1-1 on the season. Brockville, who saw their record fall to 27-8-3-1, had goals from Matthew Shanklin, Parker Casey, and Benjamin Dirven, while Jake Begley made 17-saves in the loss.
