Morning Recap | Colts and Lumber Kings victorious Saturday night

 

RENFREW, ON – Saturday night saw two games of CCHL action, with the Cornwall Colts and Pembroke Lumber Kings picking up road wins.

 

CORNWALL 4 RENFREW 3 OT

Keanu Krenn, Aaron Shaw, and Will McKinley scored in regulation, John Richer netted the overtime winner, while Dax Easter made 43-saves as Cornwall snapped their ten-game losing skid to improve to 4-14-3-4 on the season. Renfrew, who saw their record fall to 12-5-1-1, had two goals from newly-signed Joseph Kennelly, a single tally from Charlie Johnson, while Sebastian Resar made 28-saves in the losing effort.

 

PEMBROKE 4 OTTAWA 3 OT

Jacob Zwirecki, Jesse Kirkby, and Gabe Malek scored in regulation, Jack Stockfish was the overtime hero, while Reece Proulx made 33-saves as Pembroke padded their lead in the Robinson Division, improving to 16-4-1-1 on the season. Ottawa, who dropped their record to 17-3-1-1, had goals from Thomas Freel, Julian Recine, and Massimo Gentile, while Felix Schnell made 24-saves in the loss.
