Morning Recap | Canadians defeat Colts in Shootout to open 2021-22 CCHL season

 

OTTAWA, ON – It has been since March 11, 2020 when the last official Central Canada Hockey League game had been played prior to the league shutting down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fast forward to last night and the Cornwall Colts hosted the Carleton Place Canadians to officially open the 2021-22 regular season.

Emile Beliveau-Hameury, Bill Gourgon, and Caleb Kean tallied regulation goals, Devon Thibodeau netted the shootout winner, while Joe Chambers made 37 saves to help lead the Canadians to victory. Aaron Shaw, Will German, and Alex Fournier scored goals for the Colts, while Emile Savoie finished with 38 saves in the losing effort.
