Morning Recap | Busy Sunday with 5 games of action

 

Ottawa, ON – A busy Sunday with five games of CCHL action across the region which saw victories from the Smiths Falls Bears, Navan Grads, Cornwall Colts, Carleton Place Canadians, and Ottawa Jr Senators.

 

F | SMITHS FALLS 3 NEPEAN 2

Noah Adams (2), and Reid Russett tallied goals, while affiliate Patrick Leaver made 23-saves for his first career CCHL victory as Smiths Falls improved to 31-24-3-2 on the season. Nepean saw their record fall to 9-47-1-2 on the year.

 

F | NAVAN 5 HAWKESBURY 3

Alex Robert (2G, 2A), Devyn Orpana (2G), and Jackson Arcan scored goals, while Alex Aslanidis made 45-saves as Navan improved to 28-30-1-0, taking sole possession of the 8th and final playoff spot for the time being. Hawkesbury, who saw their record fall to 35-22-2-0 had goals from Sean Clarke, Kris Pietroniro, and Luke Grainger, while Mathieu Chenier made 27-saves in the loss.

 

F | CORNWALL 3 ROCKLAND 2 OT

Matthew Toporowski scored twice, including the overtime winner, Charles-Edward Tardif also scored, while Jakob Robillard and Rico DiMatteo split duties in net stopping 35 shots between them as Cornwall improved their season record to 20-34-1-4. Rockland, who fell to 38-18-1-3, had goals from Vincent Labelle and Cole Craft, while Cole Hudson made 28-saves in the losing effort.

 

F | CARLETON PLACE 3 BROCKVILLE 1

Jake Code (2), and Brett Thorne found the back of the net, while Devon Levi made 18-saves as Carleton Place improved to 48-7-4-2 on the season. Brockville saw their record fall to 36-15-3-6 on the year.

 

F | OTTAWA 6 PEMBROKE 1

Julian Recine, Thomas Freel, David Berube, Christophe Cote, Michael Eftimovski, and Faisal Alsaif scored goals, while Bryan Landsberger made 33-saves as Ottawa improved to 32-24-3-0. Pembroke saw their record fall to 30-25-2-1.
