Morning Recap | Busy Sunday shows strong parity in league

 

Ottawa, ON – With five games across the CCHL on Sunday, a few surprising victories showed just why the CCHL is so strong from top to bottom.

 

F | SMITHS FALLS 3 OTTAWA 2 OT

Ryan Richardson and Andrew McKenney scored in regulation, Justin Trudel notched the OT winner, while Jake Smith stood tall making 27-saves as Smiths Falls improved to 3-7-0-1 on the year. Ottawa, who fell to 8-3-1-0, had goals from Owen Cole and Vincent Velocci, while Felix Schnell made 31-saves.

 

F | NAVAN 4 CARLETON PLACE 1

Devyn Orpana, Wil Murray, Ryan O’Toole, and Jean -Sylvain Boyer tallied goals, while Alex Wisco made 29-saves as Navan improved to 6-6-0-0. David Gagnon scored the lone Carleton Place goal, while Devon Levi made 24-saves as the Canadians fell to 13-2-0-0 this season.

 

F | KEMPTVILLE 6 CORNWALL 3

Gavin Wood (1G, 2A), Jeff Taylor (1G, 2A), Ryan Pawlikowski (1G, 1A), Cole Dennison, Madoka Suzuki, and Dylan Bond found the back of the net, while Riley McCabe made 19-saves as Kemptville improved their season record to 4-6-2-0. Cornwall fell to 3-8-0-1, getting goals from Emerick Nadeau (2), and Sam Gaudreau.

 

F | BROCKVILLE 6 NEPEAN 3

Josh Spratt (2G, 1A), Simon Kerr (1G, 1A), Justin McRae (1G, 1A), Mathieu Halle (1G, 1A), and Will Torianni scored goals, while Jake Begley made 22-saves as Brockville improved to 6-3-3-0 on the year. Nepean saw their record fall to 1-11-1-1.

 

F | KANATA 4 PEMBROKE 3

Trevor Poeze (2G, 1A), Felix Tourigny, and Paul Larabie scored, while Vincent Bujold-Roux made 21-saves as Kanata improved to 8-4-0-0 on the season. Cameron Hough, Jack Stockfish, and Jacob Shankar responded for Pembroke, while Reese Proulx made 21-saves as the Lumber Kings fell to 7-5-0-0 this season.
