Morning Recap | Bears, Braves, and Wolves victorious Friday

 

OTTAWA, ON – Three games across the CCHL region in the final Friday of the regular season saw victories from the Smiths Falls Bears, Brockville Braves, and Renfrew Wolves.

 

SMITHS FALLS 6 NEPEAN 3

Brody Fournier netted a hat-trick to take sole possession of the CCHL goal scoring race (37), Ty Campbell, Riley Thompson, and Sean James also scored, while Will McEvoy made 17-saves as Smiths Falls improved to 25-25-3-1 to move into possession of the 8th and final playoff spot with 1 game remaining for them and 9th place Rockland. Nepean, who fell to 12-40-2-0, had goals from Zachary Lefebvre, Samuel Beaulne, and Jordan Graham, while Nathan Loisel made 20-saves in the loss.

 

 

BROCKVILLE 5 NAVAN 4 OT

Luke Tchor scored twice, including the OT winner, Colin Stacey, Thomas Haynes, and Ryan Bonfield also tallied goals, while Sami Molu finished with 36-saves as Brockville improved to 36-17-0-2 to clinch 3rd place and a 1st round playoff match-up against the Pembroke Lumber Kings. Navan, who fell to 26-24-2-2, had goals from Aidan Puley, Alec Lovisek, Calum Chau, and Danny Drouin, while Carter Garvie finished with 21-saves. The Grads clinched a playoff berth with the single point earned.

 

RENFREW 4 HAWKESBURY 0

Tyson Tomasini scored twice, Joey Kennelly and Sam Willits also found the back of the net, while Will Craig pitched a 27-save shutout as Renfrew improved to 35-17-1-2 to clinch 4th place and a 1st round playoff series with the Kemptville 73’s. Hawkesbury, who fell to 36-13-3-2, had a 23-save effort from Dimitri Pelekos in the loss.
