Ottawa, ON – Back in action after the holiday break, there were two games to kick-off the new year as the Smiths Falls Bears defeated Cornwall and the Kanata Lasers grabbed two important points Vs Nepean.

Tate Leeson had his work boots on as he led the way with four goals, Ryan Richardson added two of his own, while Jake Smith made 26-saves as Smiths Falls improved their season record to 17-16-2-1. Cornwall, who saw their record fall to 13-25-1-1, had goals from Sam Gaudreau, Joshua Barnes, and Bryan O’Mara, while Rico DiMatteo made 42-saves in the losing effort.

Mahigan Decontie, Paul Larabie, and Charlie Johnson found the back of the net, while Jean-Philippe Tourigny made 27-saves as Kanata improved to 19-14-1-4 on the year. Nepean fell to 7-30-1-2, getting both goals off the stick of Tyson Tomasini, while Tyler Laureault made 31-saves in the loss.
