Kemptville 7, Smiths Falls 5
The Kemptville 73’s defeated the visiting Smiths Falls Bears 7-5 on Wednesday night at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. It was Kemptville who struck early in the first period with Alexis Beaulieu scoring twice on the power play and Case Hennessy adding one for a 3-0 73’s lead. Maxwell Richler answered late in the first for Smiths Falls to make it 3-1 for Kemptville after one. Darius Nichols extended Kemptville’s lead early in the second before Carter Beauchesne, Marc Antoine Riopel (PP), and Travis Ouellette (SH) fuelled a Bears comeback to tie it 4–4 after two. In the third, Montoni scored twice in 29 seconds to reclaim momentum before Ouellette’s second narrowed the gap. It was Alexis Beaulieu who would score his hat trick goal late in the third period to seal a 7–5 victory for the 73’s. Donovan made 21 saves for Kemptville, while Ogini stopped 23 for Smiths Falls. Beaulieu led all scorers with three goals and one assist.
Nepean 7, Hawkesbury 3
The Nepean Raiders defeated the Hawkesbury Hawks 7-3 on Wednesday night at the Nepean Sportsplex – Yzerman Arena. The Raiders would continue to score as they did against the Ottawa Jr. Senators on Sunday afternoon, exploding for seven goals in the first two periods. Nicholas Larkin opened the scoring for the Raiders on the power play, with Luka Benoit, Spencer Thompson, Tyler Smith (2), Noah Bath, and Anthony Bertrand adding to the lead. Williamson and Tellier each had two assists. Hawkesbury rallied late with third-period goals from Kananga and Downey (2), but Gedraitis stood tall with 37 saves on 40 shots. Ruddy and Gelinas split time in net for the Hawks. Nepean went a perfect 1-for-1 on the power play in the dominant win.
Ottawa 3, Cornwall 1
The Ottawa Jr. Senators earned a 3–1 win over the Cornwall Colts on Wednesday evening at the Jim Durrell Sports Complex. It was Wynston Iserhoff who opened the scoring for the Jr. Senators in the first, with Henry Brady adding to the lead in the second. Cornwall’s Lyndon Lamb cut the deficit late in the third, but Owen Traynor sealed it for Ottawa with an empty-net goal. Scully made 22 saves for the win, while Poitras stopped 32 in a strong effort for the Colts.
Rockland 5, Renfrew 4
The Rockland Nationals come back from a two goal deficit to beat the Renfrew Wolves at the MyFM Centre Recreation Complex on Wednesday night, 5–4 was the final in overtime. Rockland forward Mavrick Brunet opened the scoring and later assisted on the OT winner by Dylan Allie at 3:47. Before then, it was Renfrew who led 4–2 after two, with goals from Tristen Aben, Kingston Harris, Ethan Ross, and Joshua Lalande. Rockland’s third-period rally featured power-play goals from Gabriel Le Houillier and Alex Kelloway. Molind made 33 saves for the win, while Kurtiak stopped 43 of 48 in a tough loss. Rockland outshot Renfrew 48–37 and remains undefeated on the season with the overtime win.
