Morning Playoff Recap | Canadians finish off Grads, Nationals and Braves take commanding leads

 

Ottawa, ON – Three games in Bogart Cup playoff action Friday night saw the Carleton Place Canadians complete their sweep over the Navan Grads, while the Brockville Braves and Rockland Nationals took 3-0 leads in their respective series.

 

F | CARLETON PLACE 4 NAVAN 3

Cole Beckstead, Zach Tupker, Reece Bolton, and Brett Thorne scored the goals, while Connor Murphy made 19-saves as Carleton Place completed their sweep over Navan.

Ben Badalamenti scored twice for the Grads, Alderic Denis had a single, while Alex Wisco made 21-saves in the loss.

Carleton Place will now sit and wait for their 2nd round opponent.

 

F | BROCKVILLE 5 SMITHS FALLS 2

Simon Mack, Emerick Nadeau, Christophe Cote, Eric Faith, and Nicholas Hawkins all had goals, while Antoine Bourdeau made 29-saves as Brockville took a 3-0 lead in their best of seven series with Smiths Falls.

Ryan Richardson and Theo Todd replied for the Bears, while Jake Smith made 30-saves in the losing effort.

Game 4 goes Sunday night in Smiths Falls at 8:30PM.

 

ROCKLAND 8 HAWKESBURY 3

Cameron Last (2), Matthew Vermaeten (2), Drew Shields, Jean-Sylvain Boyer, Cameron Scrivens, and Gunnar Smith found the back of the net, while Cyrus Martin made 25-saves as Rockland took a commanding 3-0 series lead on Hawkesbury.

Scoring for the Hawks was Patrick Johnston, Jeremie Lavallee, and Luke Grainger, while Matthew Petizian made 21-saves in the loss.

Game 4 goes Saturday night in Hawkesbury at 7:30PM.
