Midweek Recap: Grads, Lasers earn victories

Navan 6, Kemptville 4

The Navan Grads showed some mettle on the road on Wednesday night, reversing a 4-3 deficit to claim a 6-4 win in Kemptville over the 73’s.

Captain Zach Salloum scored the third-period winner for Tony Iob’s Grads (8-16-0), who also saw U-18 callup Noel DeKemp net his first career CCHL goal in the win over Kemptville (5-19-1).

Salloum and assistant captain Mike Locatelli each had identical one-goal, two-assist performances in the road win.

Kanata 8, Cornwall 3

Six different Lasers had multi-point nights as Kanata earned an 8-3 road win over the Colts at Cornwall’s Ed Lumley Arena.

The Lasers (10-11-3) trailed 3-2 at the first intermission, but scored six unanswered to stun the Colts (12-10-2) in front of 875 fans.

Kanata blueliner Liam Markhauser earned first-honours with a goal and assist in the win for Nathan Hewitt’s team; Connor Rider earned a second-star nod for his pretty second-period goal.
