The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), in partnership with Capital Sports Management Inc., is pleased to announce the 14th Annual Pre-Draft Prospects Camp taking place at the Bell Sensplex.
The goal of this camp is to provide Midget and Junior aged players an exceptional tournament experience, as well as to act as an educational opportunity for prospective players and their families.
The 2018 Prospect Camp provides an excellent opportunity for players to be scouted by CCHL coaches, scouts and general managers. All participants will play in a minimum of 4 fast-paced games – providing each player with a unique opportunity to gain exposure to all twelve CCHL teams. In addition to sending representatives from each team to scout players, the prospect camp coaches on each bench are members of the coaching staff from CCHL teams.
The camp will once again feature three CCHL Prospects Camp All-Star Games to be played the Sunday of the camp. CCHL representatives will hold a draft on Saturday evening in order to determine the roster of six Prospect Camp Selects teams, picking the top-performing players from all prospect camp participants. Each of these six Prospect Camp Selects teams will play in a showcase game on Sunday afternoon, in front of a large contingent of CCHL representatives, with CCHL coaches handling the bench duties.
Each CCHL team will name one goaltender, three defencemen and six forwards to a Selects team. The roster for each team will be available by following the CCHL online and via email and Twitter Saturday evening. All participants will be asked to confirm attendance for the All-Star game upon arrival Friday morning.
There is no additional charge to participate in an All-Star game, if selected.
Each player will also attend seminars throughout the weekend, outlining the draft, the ability of Junior A to act as a stepping-stone for one’s playing career, and the importance of education when moving into junior hockey.
The 2018 CCHL Tier 1 Junior Prospects Camp takes place April 13 to 15, 2018 at the Bell Sensplex in Kanata.
The cost of the camp is $270 which includes:
- 4 guaranteed games (two games on Friday, two on Saturday)
- CCHL Camp jersey and socks
- Seminars on the CCHL and other educational opportunities available to players
- The chance to be named to one of six CCHL Prospect Camp All-Star teams (and play in an additional showcase game on Sunday afternoon, free of charge)
- Exposure to representatives from all twelve CCHL teams
GOALTENDERS: All goalies must attend the CCHL Goalie Evaluation Camp in order to be selected to the 2018 CCHL Main Prospects Camp (some exemptions apply for select goaltenders).
U.S PLAYERS: Please note that registration for out of country players will not be accepted any less than two weeks prior to the camp start date, due to the lengthy process required for form approval.
*Note: Please be aware that all registrations are subject to review prior to acceptance. You will be notified no later than two weeks prior to the camp should your registration be decline, in which case you will be refunded in full.
