Larose Named December Academic Player of the Month

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League is proud to announce that Michael Larose of the Smiths Falls Bears have been named December’s Gongshow  Academic Player of the Month. 

Larose, 20,  had 12 points (5 goals, 7 Assists) in 9 games in December.  He has an 88% in his Calculus course, an overall average of 93% thus far in his Stats course as well as an overall average of 88% thus far in both his Accounting and Business Management courses at CEGEP.

Oliver Gauthier, Nepean Raiders – 10 points in December on 3 goals and 7 Assists. Marks in Algonquin college: 91%  in introduction to business and in macro economics

Below is a statement issued by the Bears: 

A native of Trois Rivieres, QC, Michael Larose plays Forward for the Smiths Falls Bears Jr. A Hockey Club.  As a 20 year old, Michael leads by example for the Bears.  He is a skilled forward with great vision and has natural offensive ability.  In the month on December, Michael put his skill and offensive abilities on display leading the Bears with 12 points (5G, 7A) in 9 games, averaging 1.33 points per game.

Along with his commitment to the Bears, Michael is a full-time student through CEGEP (a post-secondary education collegiate institutions exclusive to the education system in the province of Quebec) taking a Calculus course as well as a Stats course, an Accounting course and a Business Management course.  His commitment to his studies are visible through the grades he has earned thus far achieving a final grade of 88% in his Calculus course, an overall average of 93% thus far in his Stats course as well as an overall average of 88% thus far in both his Accounting and Business Management courses.  The Smiths Falls Bears Jr. A Hockey Club would like to recognize Michael Larose as their academic player of the month for December as well as nominate him for the CCHL Academic Player of the Month.
