Horodziejczyk, Pembroke blank Nepean, 3-0

 

The Pembroke Lumber Kings used a sparkling performance by Joel Horodziejczyk to take down the Nepean Raiders, as the netminder did not allow a goal in Pembroke's 3-0 shutout victory.

 

Nepean's power play was ineffective against the Lumber Kings' penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

Pembroke was led by Anthony Nellis, who had one goal. Nellis scored 8:59 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Pembroke. Brett du Puy provided the assist.

The Lumber Kings' penalty kill was spotless, allowing no goals on seven Nepean power plays. Pembroke's defense was surprisingly good. The Lumber Kings average 2.9 goals allowed per game. Pembroke kept the Raiders' goalie busy throughout the game, and Francis Marotte made 35 saves on 38 shots.

Pembroke also got points from Jesse Blais, who also tallied one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Pembroke also got a goal from Stephan Beauvais as well. In addition, Pembroke received assists from Hudson Michaelis, Adam Dauda, and Brett Horn, who contributed one each.

Nepean did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Raiders put an average of 3.1 pucks into the net per game.

Horodziejczyk rejected 27 shots on goal for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 16 minutes in penalty time with eight minors. Nepean incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors.
