Hawkesbury holds on for 4-2 win against Gloucester

 

The Hawkesbury Hawks survived a determined comeback attempt by the Gloucester Rangers on the way to a 4-2 win.

Hawkesbury took a 4-1 lead during the third period, only to have Gloucester storm back on a Joey Fallon goal 19:01 into the third period to pull to two goals down.

 

The Hawks were helped by Hunter Racine, who had one goal. Racine scored 1:28 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Hawkesbury. Liam Alcalde assisted on the tally. Hawkesbury additionally got points from Jonathan Cyr, who also racked up one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Others who scored for Hawkesbury included Ross Mandigo and CJ Stubbs, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Hawkesbury were Rory Gagnon, who had two and Jason Brochu, Tristan Perreault-Gagnon, and David Cyr, who each chipped in one.

Matt Foget also scored for Gloucester. More assists for Gloucester came via Tyler Greenberg and Ryan Kuffner, who contributed two each.

CJ Sharp recorded 18 saves for Hawkesbury. The Hawks incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. The Rangers' Doug Johnston stopped 22 shots out of the 26 that he faced. Gloucester incurred four minutes in penalty time with two minors.
