GRADS BRANDEN MAKARA COMMITS TO NCAA COLORADO COLLEGE

Cumberland Grads forward and Ottawa, ON native Branden Makara has verbally committed to join Colorado College for the 2016-17 school year.  The 18-year old joins current Grads players such as Shawn Cameron (RIT), Martin Frechette (Vermont), and Mathieu Franche (Merrimack) who have also made NCAA commitments.

The 5-11, 177 lb Makara has put together a solid season to date, posting totals of 21 goals & 52 points in 42 games, good enough for second in team scoring behind only Cameron.  He was acquired from the Gloucester Rangers last season and has done nothing but progress since.

Grads Head Coach Sylvain Favreau had this to say about the speedy winger.  "Branden always strives to improve his game.  He is committed to excellence and has been rewarded with this opportunity through great work ethic and constant improvement.  Known as one of the fastest skaters in the CCHL, Branden excels with this overall high-end skill level and relentless compete.  Key elements that will ensure his success at the next level."

Makara brings the current number of CCHL players committed to NCAA Division I hockey to 24.
