Gloucester wins tough contest against Smiths Falls, 4-3

 

The game between the Gloucester Rangers and the Smiths Falls Bears was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end Gloucester emerged with a 4-3 win.

The Rangers gained the winning advantage on a goal by Joey Fallon 13:48 into the third period and hung on until final buzzer.

 

Gloucester got the win on the strength of a great game by Fallon, who had two goals and one assist. Fallon scored the first of his two goals at 19:53 into the first period to make the score 1-1. Matt Foget provided the assist. Fallon's next tally made the score 4-3 Gloucester with 6:12 left in the third period. Foget picked up the assist.

Gloucester additionally got points from Ryan Kuffner, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Vincent Guimond also scored for Gloucester. More assists for Gloucester came via Bobby Williams, Chris Morgan, and Zachary Borsoi, who each chipped in one.

Smiths Falls kept the Rangers' goalie busy throughout the game, and David Richer made 28 saves on 31 shots. The Bears were forced to rely heavily on their penalty kill unit throughout the game, as they racked up 20 penalty minutes.

Smiths Falls was helped by Michael McKenney, who registered one goal. McKenney scored 1:25 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Smiths Falls. Neil Doef provided the assist. Smiths Falls also had goals scored by Ryan Duhaime and Daniel Lombardi, who scored one goal each. In addition, Smiths Falls received assists from Karson McCartney, who had two and Taylor Henry and Nicolas Coates, who contributed one each.

Gloucester incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors. Cole Skinner rejected 20 shots on goal for the Bears. Smiths Falls registered one goal on four power play opportunities.
