Friday Recap: Faith hat-trick leads Braves to win

Brockville 6, Rockland 3

A four-point night from Eric Faith (3G, 1A) led the way as the Brockville Braves doubled up the visiting Rockland Nationals 6-3.

Defenceman Jonny Hill also netted a pair of goals in the win for Brockville (8-6-0), while Connor Beatty had a goal and an assist in the loss for Rockland (8-4-2).

Braves forward Mike McArthur recorded three assists in his first meeting against his former team.

Kemptville 4, Pembroke 1

It was a night of firsts in Kemptville, where the 73’s claimed their first win under Jeff Jordan, goaltender Nick Bond earned his first CCHL victory and Jarrett Williams scored his first CCHL goal.

Bond stopped 29 of 30 shots en route to a 4-1 win for the 73’s (3-10-1) against the visiting Pembroke Lumber Kings (7-5-0).

Defenceman Liam Hunter chipped in with three assists in the win for Kemptville.

Carleton Place 3, Smiths Falls 0

Justin Cmunt scored a pair — including a late empty-netter — as the Carleton Place Canadians reclaimed sole possession of first place with a 3-0 blanking of the Smiths Falls Bears.

Travis Broughman had the other goal for the Canadians (11-2-1), while goaltender Jeremie Forget turned aside all 25 Bears (6-7-0) shots he faced.

Geoff Kitt and Sam Knoblauch each registered a pair of assists for Carleton Place.

Hawkesbury 4, Nepean 3

Kieran Craig’s third-period goal proved to be the winner as the Hawkesbury Hawks downed the Nepean Raiders 4-3 in Alexandria, Ont.

Zach Fournier led the way for the Hawks (6-4-0) with a three-point (2G, 1A) night, while captain David Jankowski also had a goal and two assists.

Chris Cuglietta earned his first CCHL win between the pipes for Hawkesbury.

Rookie Liam Stagg had two goals in the loss for Nepean (3-8-0).
