Sept. 29, 2017

Brockville 7, Navan 1

Phil Gilmour’s hat-trick led the way as the Brockville Braves pummelled the visiting Navan Grads 7-1.

The Braves (6-6-0) had 10 different players tally points in the win over the sliding Grads (3-7-0), who yanked starter Seth Carter after just 14 minutes of play.

Eric Holland had a pair of goals — including a first-period penalty shot — in the win for Brockville.

Hawkesbury 2, Carleton Place 1

A 42-save performance from goaltender Matt Petizian led the Hawkesbury Hawks past the ‘visiting’ Carleton Place Canadians, 2-1, on Friday in Alexandria.

The Hawks (5-3-0), temporarily relocated due to arena issues, had goals from David Caza and Michael Marleau; Connor Hill had the lone goal for C.P. (9-2-1).

Rockland 5, Kemptville 4 (SO)

A last-minute tally from Noah Rowe earned the 73’s their first point in five games, as Kemptville fell 5-4 in a shootout in Rockland.

Jacob Shankar had a game-high three points (1G, 2A) in the loss for the 73’s (2-8-1), while Simon Houle and rookie Jordan Power had multi-point efforts in the win for Rockland (6-3-2).

Smiths Falls 4, Kanata 0

A dominant first 40 minutes helped the Smiths Falls Bears to a commanding 4-0 win over the visiting Kanata Lasers.

Nick Prestia, Marc Shannon, Michael Larose and Hunter Garlasco all found the net for Smiths Falls (5-5-0), which outshot Kanata (5-6-1) 41-25.
