Day 6 Blog | Junior Club World Cup | Capitals drop tournament opener

Sochi, RU – The team got their day started with breakfast and an early morning ice session to prepare for their tournament opener later in the day Vs Russia league champion Yaroslavl Lokomotiv.

Following the ice session, the players and staff headed back to the hotel where they would have some lunch, followed by a team meeting.  After a quiet afternoon resting up for the game, the team ventured over to the Shayba Arena.  On the ice upon arrival was a match between the Capitals other two upcoming opponents, Jokerit (Finland) and Kunlun Red Star (China).  Jokerit would come out on top by a 5-1 score.

The coaching staff then went over some game strategy and followed up on many things that have been worked on in practice over the past week before the players would get their pre-game warm-ups in.

After an entertaining Opening Ceremony it was time to drop the puck and get the 2018 Junior Club Sirius World Cup started.
