Cornwall downs Brockville, 3-1

Lawson MacDonald registered one point to lead the Cornwall Colts to a 3-1 victory over the Brockville Braves.

Cornwall’s offense rang up 40 shots on Brockville’s net.

Cornwall also got points from Marly Quince, who also grabbed one goal and one assist to lead the team in points. Cornwall also got a goal from Kevin Hope as well. In addition, Cornwall received assists from Grant Cooper, Tanner Spink, and Tristen Elie, who contributed one each.

The Braves excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. Brockville’s offense operated below its season average. The Braves average 3.4 goals per game.

Brockville was led by Eric Israel, who scored the team’s only goal. Israel scored 10:55 into the second period to make the score 1-0 Brockville. Neil Robinson picked up the assist.

The Colts’ Denny Dubblestyne stopped 23 shots out of the 24 that he faced. Bo Taylor made 37 saves for the Braves on 39 shots. Brockville incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors and had no power play opportunities.
