Commitment Alert | Wolves Will Larsen commits to Nipissing University

 

OTTAWA, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Renfrew Wolves are pleased to announce that defenseman Will Larsen has committed to U Sports Nipssing University for the fall of 2021.

The 2000 born Ottawa, ON native is in his final season of junior hockey, where he has posted 1 goal in 8 development scrimmages to date. Over the course of 179 total games played between the Wolves, Kanata Lasers, and Smiths Falls Bears, Larsen has totaled 40 points (11G, 29A). 

“I’m excited to join such a great organization with high end academics at Nipissing. I want to thank Coach Leonard and the rest of the Wolves staff for helping me reach my goals of playing university hockey. I’d also like to thank all of my other coaches who helped me get to this point.” said Larsen when asked for comment.

Wolves Head Coach Ryan Leonard had nothing but kind words for Will, who was selected as part of his core leadership group this past summer. “Will has been a steady defenseman for a number of years in this league, and will definitely be a huge asset for the Lakers. He was instrumental in building a strong culture for our new program, and we would like to thank Will for everything he’s done for us during his time in Renfrew.”

Prior to entering the junior ranks, the big defensive defenseman played two seasons of HEO U18 AAA with both the Kanata Lasers U18 and Smiths Falls Bears U18 clubs. He originally came up through the Nepean Minor Hockey Association.
