Commitment Alert | Colts Joshua Barnes commits to Penn State for 2020-21

 

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Cornwall Colts are please to announce that ‘2002 born F Joshua Barnes has committed to attend Penn State University for the 2020-21 school year.

Barnes (16), spent the 2017-18 season as a member of the Cornwall Colts U18 program in the HEO Midget AAA League, where he finished 2nd in league scoring with 52 points (26G, 26A) in 39 games. The Cornwall, ON native also dressed in 14 games with the Jr Colts, totaling 11 points (5G, 6A). 

He also took part in both the Marlies Holiday Classic and Peterborough Tournament of Champions where he led all skaters in scoring.

“Josh is an exceptional athlete”, said Colts Head Coach Ian MacInnis. “It’s an absolute pleasure to work with him. He has a real hunger to learn, and being a student gives him real separation from other players. His hockey IQ he high, he has great quickness, and shoot very well. He is a great kid to coach and a real pleasure to watch play.”

He was originally selected in the 1st round, 3rd overall by the Colts in the 2017 CCHL Bantam Protected Draft.
