Commitment Alert | Bears Ryan Richardson commits to Clarkson University for 2020-21

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Smiths Falls Bears are pleased to announce that forward Ryan Richardson has committed to NCAA Clarkson University for the 2020-21 school year.

The 2001 born Stittsville, ON native sits 3rd overall in league rookie scoring with 29 points (12G, 17A) in 40 games of action. He also suited up for the CCHL Robinson Division at the annual Eastern Canada Cup, Team East at the CJHL Prospects Game, and represented Canada East at the 2019 World Junior A Championships.

“Ryan has outstanding leadership abilities,” said Bears Head Coach Alex Armstrong. “His work-ethic on and off the ice had made him the player he is today. His ability to play a 200-foot game, and ability to take the puck to the net and finish has had many take notice.”

Prior to his time in the CCHL, Richardson graduated from the Ottawa Valley Titans Bantam AAA program and spent two Midget seasons with the Bears AAA club where he totaled 70 points (32G, 38A) in 84 games.
