Commitment Alert | 73’s Johnny Howie commits to USPORTS University of Ottawa

 

KEMPTVILLE, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Kemptville 73’s are pleased to announce that 2001 born Carp, ON native Johnny Howie has committed to USPORTS University of Ottawa for the 2022-23 school year.

Howie recently completed his final season of junior hockey with the 73’s, where he finished second overall in CCHL scoring among defensemen with 48 points (11G, 37A) in 55 games of action. He went on to add an assist in 3 playoff games. For his efforts on the year, the two-way defenseman was named to the CCHL 2nd All-Star Team.

Over the course of his junior, Howie also spent time with the Cowichan Valley Capitals of the BCHL and the Grand Prairie Storm of the AJHL. He also played one season of local Junior B with the Renfrew Timberwolves of the EOJHL. 

Prior to playing junior hockey, Howie spent two seasons with the Kanata Lasers U18 program in the HEOU18AAA league.

He is a product of the Ottawa Valley Titans AAA and Ottawa Valley Silver Seven AA Minor Hockey programs.
