Chamberland nets hat trick, leads Pembroke to 8-2 win over Nepean

A hat trick by Felix Chamberland was the highlight in Lumber Kings’ 8-2 win against the Nepean Raiders.

Chamberland got on the scoresheet 8:36 into the first period. He then added goals at 9:36 into the first and at 16:51 into the third.

The Pembroke Lumber Kings forced Raiders’ goalies to work hard to keep the puck out of the net, firing 33 shots and forcing 25 saves. John Gilmer made three stops and Francis Marotte made 22. Pembroke excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in four chances. The Lumber Kings surpassed their usual scoring output this season. Pembroke averages 4.3 goals per game.

Pembroke additionally got points from Kris Lalonde, who also racked up one goal and one assist, Hudson Michaelis, who also had one goal and one assist, and Ryan Casselman, who also tallied one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Pembroke included Brendan Valko and Chris Minns, who scored one goal each. Other players who recorded assists for Pembroke were Anthony Nellis, who had two and Brett du Puy, Mitchell Mueller, Jesse Blais, Cale List, Owen McDade, Stephen Cooney, and Justin Felhaber, who each chipped in one.

Nepean was helped by William White, who registered two goals. White scored the first of his two goals at 7:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Nepean. Felix Page picked up the assist. White’s next tally made the score 4-2 Pembroke with 15:56 left in the third period. Page assisted on the tally. In addition, Nepean received assists from Josh Zizek and Rory Garlasco, who contributed one each.

Jordan Piccolino rejected 17 shots on goal for the Lumber Kings. Pembroke incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors. The Raiders incurred 10 minutes in penalty time with five minors.
