The Rockland Nationals faced a narrow 4–3 overtime defeat against the Edmundston Blizzard in their opening game of the 2025 Centennial Cup. Despite trailing 2–0 after the first period, Rockland mounted a comeback with goals from Josh O’Connor, Joshua Penney, and Jacob Charron, the latter tying the game with just two seconds remaining in regulation. However, Edmundston’s Philippe Collette secured the victory by scoring 43 seconds into overtime. Rockland’s power play converted once on two opportunities, while their penalty kill allowed one goal on three chances. Goaltender Benoit Forget made 33 saves in the loss, while Edmundston’s Austin Caley stopped 30 shots to earn the win.
