CCHL Recap | Junior Senators & Bears win Tuesday

 

OTTAWA, ON – A rare Tuesday night of CCHL action saw the Ottawa Junior Senators and Smiths Falls Bears pick up victories. 

 

F | OTTAWA 5 CARLETON PLACE 1

Braxton  Ross, James Taylor, Antoine Gauthier, Mathis Bedard, and Nicolas Papineau each found the back of the net, while Connor Shibley made 24-saves as Ottawa improved their season record to 1-1-0. Carleton Place, who fell to 2-1-0, had their lone goal from Matteo Disipio, while Joe Chambers made 16-saves in the loss.

 

F | SMITHS FALLS 5 HAWKESBURY 4 OT

Owen Watson, Shaymus Stevenson, Conor Ronayne, and Alec Hamady scored in regulation, Sean James netted the overtime winner, while Will McEvoy made 31-saves as Smiths Falls improved to 1-2-0 on the season. Hawkesbury, who fell to 1-0-1-1, had goals from Landon Brownlee, Remi Gagne, Jakson Kirk, and Nathan Gagne, while Dimitri Pelekos made 22-saves on the losing end of things.
