CCHL Recap | 73’s and Grads victorious in season openers

 

OTTAWA, ON – Opening night of the 2022-23 season saw a couple match-ups in the city as the Kemptville 73’s scored late to knock off the Nepean Raiders and the Navan Grads picked up the victory over the defending champion Ottawa Junior Senators.

Chase Lammi netted a hat-trick, Patrick Haughian and Ty Whyte also found the back of the net, while Conor Blackwood finished with 28-saves as Kemptville picked up their season opening victory. Nepean received goals from Coleman Bennett, Jack Matsukubo, and Joshua Reid, while Gage Stewart made 27-saves in the losing effort.

 

NAVAN 5 OTTAWA 3

Owen Parsons led the charge with 2 goals, Nicholas Bennett, Nicholas Paone, and Cayden Faust also scored, while Braedyn McIntosh made 21-saved to lift Navan to victory. Ottawa had goals from Mickael Hebert, Andrew Uturo, and Zachary Losier, while Rorke Applebee made 38-saves in the loss.
