OTTAWA, ON – Wednesday night saw the defending champion Ottawa Junior Senators take an early series lead over Smiths Falls, while the Pembroke Lumber Kings evened up their series with the Brockville Braves.

Thomas Freel and Julian Recine scored two goals apiece, Xavier Guillemette and Vincent Velocci added singles, while William Desmarais made 15-saves as Ottawa won big to take a 1-0 series lead. Smiths Falls got their lone goal from Riley Thompson, while Will McEvoy made 25-saves in the loss.

Jack Stockfish, Bruce Coltart, Joe Jordan, and Jesse Kirkby scored goals, while Reece Proulx made 38-saves as Pembroke evened up their first round series with Brockville. The Braves had their lone goal from Nicolas Lariviere, while Sami Molu made 19-saves in the loss.
