The Central Canada Hockey League and Smiths Falls Bears are pleased to announce that ’96 born winger Tre Folkes will join CIS Ryerson University this coming fall.

The 5-10, 172 lb Scarborough, ON native completed his third and final season in the CCHL with the Bears where he posted 9 goals and 34 points in 58 combined regular season and playoff games. Folkes spent his first two seasons as a member of the Brockville Braves.  In 192 total CCHL games, the two-way forward scored 32 times while totaling 92 points.

The highly competitive forward competes in all three zones, drives the net hard and gets under the skin of opponents. He shows a strong defensive acumen to his defensive assignments making him responsible on defensive zone faceoffs and penalty kill duty.

"He is a model citizen with strong leadership ability and work ethic which will enable him to reach high levels of success in the future," said Bears General Manager Mark Grady.

The Ryerson University Rams Hockey Program finished tops in the OUA West Division in 2016-17 with an overall record of 22-4-2.
