Ottawa, ON – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) alumni continued to make an impact at higher levels of hockey during the 2025-26 season, with 85 former CJHL players and coaches serving as head coaches across the NHL, AHL, ECHL, SPHL, USPORTS and Canadian Hockey League (CHL).
The impressive list included 12 CJHL alumni who guided National Hockey League (NHL) clubs at various points during the season. Leading that group was Rod Brind’Amour (Notre Dame Hounds/SJHL), who guided the Carolina Hurricanes to the Stanley Cup championship.
The ECHL featured 16 CJHL alumni as head coaches, while another 21 led USPORTS programs and 37 served as head coaches in the Canadian Hockey League.
The Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) was also well represented, with 15 of its alumni earning head coaching positions across these higher levels during the 2025-26 campaign.
