Week 23 – Power Rankings

  1. Carleton Place Canadians (46-4-4) (CJHL #1) | LW: 1 (–) | Results: 5-3W vs. NAV, 6-2W at KEM | The Canadian continue their stranglehold over the top of the CCHL with wins over the 73’s and the Navan Grads. They inch closer to 100 points and continue to remain on top of the Robinson Division.

  2. Ottawa Jr. Senators (40-7-6) (CJHL #6) | LW: 2 (–) | Results: 5-4SOL vs. KAN | Despite a shootout loss to the Kanata Lasers, the Ottawa Junior Sens remain in control of the Yzerman division. They keep a hold of the #2 spot in the Power Rankings.

  3. Hawkesbury Hawks (31-16-1) | LW: 3 (-) | Results: 3-1W vs. ROC, 4-3SOL at ROC | The winning streak for the Hawks came to an end at 7 games but the team still looked good in their shootout loss to the Nationals. They still secure the 3rd spot on the rankings and are a team to lookout for.

  4. Kanata Lasers (28-19-9) | LW: 4 (-) | Results: 3-0W vs. SFB, 5-4W at OTT, 4-2W at NEP | A great week for the Kanata Lasers having some dominant wins including over the Ottawa Junior Sens and clinch a playoff spot for the 1st time since 2011. They move up a slot and will continue to try and battle for the #3 spot.

  5. Brockville Braves (30-16-3) | LW: 6 (+1) | Results: 6-3W vs. CRW, 6-4W vs. PEM, 3-0W vs. SFB | Brockville also came out with a big week getting some convincing games over the Colts, Lumber Kings, and the Bears. They are another team on the rise that will also look to battle for the number 3 spot in the Power Rankings.

  6. Cornwall Colts (26-21-6) | LW: 5 (-1) | Results: 6-3L at BRO, 2-1L vs. NEP | A not so great week for the Cornwall Colts taking a 6-3 loss to the Brockville Braves and a 2-1 loss to the Nepean Raiders. Based off of the play of the Braves and the Lasers, the Colts move down a spot but are still very much in the hunt for 3rd.

  7. Pembroke Lumber Kings (25-23-2) | LW: 8 (-) Results: 6-4L at BRO, 5-4W vs. NAV | High scoring affairs for the Lumber Kings that ends up with a loss and a win. They will continue to try and build up some momentum heading into the later part of the season.

  8. Rockland Nationals (24-24-4) | LW: 8 (-) | Results: 3-1L at HAW, 4-3W vs. HAW | Only 1 team they faced off against this week, that being the Hawkesbury Hawks. Able to trade a win and a loss. Evens out and they remain at the 8 spot in the Power Rankings.

  9. Smiths Falls Bears(21-28-5) | LW: 9 (-) | Results: 3-0L at KAN, 4-3W vs. KEM, 3-0L at BRO | 2 shutout losses this past week were not something the Bears were hoping for. The 4-3 win over Kemptville helps keep them in the 9 spot.

  10. Nepean Raiders(17-30-6) | LW: 10 (-) | Results: 2-1W at CRW, 4-2L vs. KAN | The Raiders were able to break their losing skid with a win over a good Cornwall Colts team. The team however went right back into the loss column with their loss against the Kanata Lasers. The team will look to try and find some chemistry lines on the team and play spoiler.

  11. Kemptville 73’s (15-35-3) | LW: 11 (-) | Results: 4-3SOL at SFB, 6-2L vs. CPC | The 73’s didn’t have a great week with a shootout loss to the Smiths Falls Bears and a 6-2 loss over the Carleton Place Canadians. They will look to try and rebound this upcoming week.

  12. Navan Grads (9-40-0) | LW: 12 (-) | Results: 5-3L at CPC, 5-4L at PEM | The Grads were able to put up a fighting chance against the Carleton Place Canadians off the goaltending performance of Seth Carter. However, the Grads inch closer to their franchise record of 24 straight losses set back in 1994.
