The Canadians defeat the Lumber Kings 3-1

The Carleton Place Canadians' offense had a big night, peppering the Pembroke Lumber Kings with 39 shots throughout the game. The Carleton Place Canadians took the lead before the halfway point in the third on a goal from Travis Broughman.

Ben Tupker delivered for his team with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) and Travis Broughman chipped in with 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

During the first period, Tupker opened the scoring for the Canadians with a goal at 12:26 with helpers from his linemates, Francis and Broughman.

In the third, Broughman netted what turned out to be the game winning goal at 7:17 with a helper from his teammate Tupker. Cmunt put in a goal at 12:56 with assists from Knoblauch and Luik. Cross finally put Pembroke on the board with a goal at 19:10 with an assist from fellow Lumber Kings forward Barnaby.

The Canadians’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Forget as he stopped 15 of the 16 shots he faced. Forget’s counterpart, Smith, also had a big night, managing to stop 36 of 39, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Carleton Place Canadians’ record to (31-2-0-3).
