Rockland inks QMJHL vet Brisebois

Rockland, Ont. —

The Rockland Nationals added to their veteran roster on Monday with the signing of 18-year-old forward Aaron Brisebois.

The Gatineau native joins the Nationals after appearing in 51 games with the QMJHL’s Acadie-Bathurst Titan last season.

“He is an explosive centre who has terrific edges (and) plays at a high tempo,” said Nats GM/head coach Dan Sauvé. “He can play a two-way game, (and) should be a very solid addition to our forward group.”

The 5’11, 198-lb. Brisebois was a productive player in Midget AAA with l’Intrépide de Gatineau, but was used primarily as a checking forward in Acadie-Bathurst last season.

His family has pre-existing ties to the Nationals organization, as his uncle was a member of the national-champion 1975-76 team.

Brisebois is the latest in a series of players to enter the CCHL after spending time at the major-junior level; Ottawa’s Chiwetin Blacksmith and Silas Mattawashish both spent time in the QMJHL last season, while Navan’s Keenan Reynolds was previously a member of the OHL’s Flint Firebirds.
