Liam Hunter Committed to NCAA D-3 Utica College

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League is happy to announce that ‘97 Kemptville 73’s defenseman Liam Hunter has committed to NCAA Division III Utica College for the 2018-2019 season.

Hunter, 20, joined the league during the 2015-2016 season as a member of the Gloucester Rangers roster before being moved to the Kemptville 73’s during the 2016-2017 season

Hunter is currently averaging 7 goals and 22 assists this season over 36 games played with the Kemptville 73’s and is currently their team captain.

On his decision to commit with Utica, Hunter said “The hockey aspect of Utica is like no other. It’s an unbelievable atmosphere, with knowledgeable coaches, and a winning culture.” He also spoke how the academic program suits him well and that is the big focus for him.

Kemptville 73’s head coach, Jeff Jordan, spoke on the announcement of Liam Hunter’s commitment. “He’s been a great captain for our team and the entire organization is proud to see him advance to the next stage of his career. Liam is a great addition to the Utica program.”

Hunter will be back on the ice this Friday as his squad takes on the Cornwall Colts at the North Grenville Municipal Centre. Puck drop is at 7:30pm.
