Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League is pleased to announce that that Kanata Lasers forward, Bennett Stockdale has been named the Week 15 CCM Player of the Week.

Stockdale, 18, posted five points (1G/4A) in two games last week, en-route to a 1-0-1 Lasers record. The Nepean, Ontario native had three points (1G/2A) in a Kanata win over the Jr. Senators on Thursday and added two assists in a 4-3 overtime loss to Smiths Falls on Friday. Technically scoring five points in two days, with Kanata playing on back to back nights.

“He’s a hard working kid who doesn’t quit on pucks” said Kanata Head Coach, Nathan Hewitt. “He’s been putting in extra time to work on skills and he’s playing the game the right way”.

This week’s honourable mentions go out to Jeremy Quesnel of the Cornwall Colts and Ottawa Jr. Senators forward, Pierre Luc Veillette.

Quesnel, 16, scored three goals and one assist against the 73’s in the Colts only game last week. The Alexandria, Ontario native now has eight points this season.

Veillette, 20, scored five points, including a hat-trick against the Pembroke Lumber Kings on Sunday. The St. Lawrence commit scored a natural hat-trick in the first period to capture the league lead in goals at 23 this season.
