GLOUCESTER RANGERS TO HOST ANNUAL CCHL DRAFTS

 

Top Hockey Eastern Ontario Bantam and Midget hockey players will be highlighted in annual Jr. A draft

 

OTTAWA, ON – April 27, 2015 – The Earl Armstrong arena, home of the Gloucester Jr. A Rangers will once again play host to the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) draft. The CCHL is one of the only Jr. A leagues that still conducts its annual draft in person to allow both the players and fans a chance to share in the experience.  

 

The league’s General Managers and coaching staffs will be busy this Monday, April 27th as the Midget draft kicks-off from4:00pm6:00pm. This draft will include ten rounds featuring elite midget players born in 1997-99. The midget draft will be covered on-line at league website (www.centraljuniorhockeyleague.ca) . The evening will culminate with the league’s bantam draft, the 12 teams will have eight rounds securing the top 2000 born bantam players. All the players born 1998 and later drafted Monday will be eligible to participate in the inaugural season of the Hockey Eastern Ontario Midget AAA League. Kevin Abrams, Commissioner of the CCHL is excited for the annual draft evening, “we’re always thrilled to host our draft in-person, it’s always a special night for our teams, fans, the players and their parents”. The arena doors open at 7:00pm for the public to share in this prestigious event. Abrams adds, “no doubt you will definitely hear the names of some future stars, not only in our league but Major Jr, CIS, NCAA and the NHL.”
