Friday Recap: Lumber Kings, Braves and Bears Win

Pembroke 3, Rockland 2

A 35-save performance from goaltender Jake Smith led the Pembroke Lumber Kings to a 3-2 road win in Rockland against the hometown Nats.

Casey Rhodes had a pair of goals in the win for Pembroke (5-3-0), while Shane Spencer scored the game-winner at 11:24 of the third period.

Antoine Leblanc and Dana Engram had the goals in a losing effort for Rockland (4-2-2).

Smiths Falls 5, Navan 2

The Smiths Falls Bears dominated the final 40 minutes of play en route to a 5-2 win over Navan and a return to .500 on Friday night.

Mitchell Larabie led the way for the Bears (4-4-0) with two goals, while Marc Shannon, Alex DiCarlo and Michael Larose also had multi-point nights for the hosts.

Coleton Cianci and Alex Way had the goals for the sliding Grads (2-6-0) in the loss; goaltender Brennan Kitchen made 44 saves in an admirable losing effort.

Brockville 3, Carleton Place 2 (SO)

A strong 46-save effort from goaltender Yaniv Perets helped the Brockville Braves (5-5-0) return to .500 with a shock victory against first-place Carleton Place (7-1-1).

Brockville’s back-end production continued on Friday night, as defencemen Jonny Hill and Simon Kerr found the mark for Jesse Winchester’s team.

Connor Hill and league-leading scorer Samuel Knoblauch scored for Jason Clarke’s Canadians.
