Kemptville 3, Hawkesbury 2 (SO)
The Kemptville 73’s snapped a six-game losing streak on Sunday with a 3-2 shootout win over the visiting Hawkesbury Hawks.
Joel Frazee scored the shootout winner for Kemptville (6-22-1) against the Hawkesbury (16-8-1) team that traded him; 73’s goaltender Nick Bond stopped 36 of 38 shots in regulation and all three Hawks shooters in the skills competition to earn the win.
Ottawa 4, Navan 3
The Ottawa Jr. Senators scored three times in the final 92 seconds of play to earn a shock regulation-time victory over the Navan Grads.
The Jr. Sens (22-4-3) trailed the Grads (8-20-0) 3-1 with less than two minutes remaining, but goals from Owen Guy, Griffin McGregor and Devon Daniels stunned Navan into submission.
Marty Dagenais’s team now trails first-place C.P. by nine points with a pair of games in-hand.
Carleton Place 4, Rockland 1
The Carleton Place Canadians won their fourth-straight contest on Sunday afternoon, downing the visiting Rockland Nationals 4-1.
Travis Broughman tallied a goal and an assist for Carleton Place (27-2-2), while Canadians netminder Mike Leach stopped 25 of the 26 Rockland (14-14-2) shots he faced.
Sam Allison, Zach Tupker and Ben Tupker also found the mark for Jason Clarke’s first-place outfit in the confident win.
Cornwall 4, Pembroke 0
James Orr scored a pair of goals and Liam Lascelle turned aside 41 shots as the Cornwall Colts blanked the hometown Pembroke Lumber Kings 4-0.
Cornwall (13-12-4) used a three-goal second period to solidify a lead against the Lumber Kings (15-10-1) and never relinquished it.
Alex Horawski was yanked in the loss after allowing three goals on nine shots.
