Commitment Alert | Jr Senators Gabriel Morin to join USports Concordia University this fall

Ottawa, ON – The Central Canada Hockey League and Ottawa Jr Senators are pleased to announce that ’97 born forward Gabriel Morin has committed to play hockey at Concordia University of USports this coming fall.

The Gatineau, QC native had an injury riddled season but still managed to be an impact player when he was in the lineup, especially late in the season and through out the postseason. After playing just 9 games in the regular season and totalling 5 points, it would be his play during the playoffs, Fred Page Cup, and RBC Cup which separated him  from a lot of his peers as he posted 20 points (11G, 9A) in 25 games.

“Gabriel missed more than 50 regular season games with us because of a shoulder injury, but he was one of our top players in the playoffs, especially in the final against Carleton Place,” said Jr Sens Head Coach Martin Dagenais. “He was also dominant in the Fred Page Cup and RBC Cup. Concordia will be getting a power-forward with tons of character. Like Michael Thomas, who committed yesterday, Morin also has the potential to play pro hockey one day.”

Concordia University, which is located in Montreal, QC, plays in the OUA Conference of USports Hockey. They finished the 2017-18 season with an 18-7-3 record, good enough for a third place regular season finish.
