Bogart Cup Recap | Carleton Place stays alive to win Game 4, 2-1

Ottawa, Ontario – The Carleton Place Canadians keep themselves in the series taking a 2-1 win in Game 4 to extend the series and get themselves in the win column in the Bogart Cup Finals.

The Carleton Place Canadians scored the 1st goal of the game with a powerplay goal from Travis Broughman 19:35 into the 1st period. That goal was assisted by Brett Thorne.

Going into the 2nd period, the Ottawa Junior Senators were able to get a game tying goal 15:46 into the period on the powerplay. The goal was scored by Finn Evans and was assisted by Zachary Salloum and by Owen Guy. Less than 2 minutes later, the Carleton Place Canadians had another powerplay opportunity and took advantage scoring the powerplay goal to take the lead and the eventual win. The goal was scored by Samuel Knoblauch and was assisted by Travis Broughman.

In the 3rd period, the Ottawa Junior Senators laid into the shots shooting the puck 15 times, the most shots for the Junior Sens in a period during the game. Nevertheless, the Junior Sens weren’t able to get the decisive tying goal taking the 2-1 loss. The Carleton Place Canadians get their first win of the series and keep their Bogart Cup hopes alive.

All the goals scored during the game were on the powerplay with Carleton Place going 2 for 6 and the Ottawa Junior Sens going 1 for 5. Travis Broughman had a good night for the Canadians scoring the 1st goal of the game and assisting on the game winning goal for the Canadians.

The next game in the Bogart Cup Finals will take place this Friday at the Carleton Place Arena with puck drop happening at 7:45pm EST. The Canadians will look to try and continue their momentum and narrow down the Junior Sens lead. The Junior Sens will have another opportunity to ice the series and win the Bogart Cup.
